October 2009 Harmony4Kidz News

Hello everyone,

So October has been a busy month for Harmony4Kidz.

We made some great progress.

First of all - we had the biggest turn out at one of our Board meetings and had a great time discussing what we can do for the rest of this year and into the next.  Some of the things that came out of that meeting were as follows: We are now partnering with www.sendoutcards.com/harmony4kdiz to raise money for our foundation.  President of Fairfield Chapter of the Kiwanis club was at our meeting and had many great suggestions. With the help of the Kiwanis Club, we have contacted with 3 local high schools and we are looking at the possibility of the high school kids doing some community service for Harmony4Kdiz by selling some of the great products that Sendoutcards has to offer to raise money for our cause. This would make a huge difference to our organization. Our goal is to do this starting mid November. We would like the high school kids to sell Socboxes, a product that is brand new to Sendoutcards and is a great gift idea for the holiday season, especially.

The book:  Bermuda Road book will finally be published by Thanks Giving - which is really great because November is the Homelessness Awareness month. This is going to be a great addition to our organization.

I am very excited to see what can be made possible by having the book available.

We are also talking now about starting to plan a fundraising event for next year - around Valentine’s Day.

We have also came up with a list of 9 camps, Thanks to Gail of Beautiful Faces for getting us connected with someone who gave us the list.  Harmony4Kidz will start reaching out to art and music camps to acquire scholarships for some or our kids for the summer of 2010.  This is very exciting news - because even if we do not yet have the money to create our Harmony4Kdiz homes where the kids can work on their creativity - this is the next best thing -sending them to sleep away summer art and music camps. Partnering up with some of the best art and music camps will be a huge Breakthrough for Harmony4kdiz - bringing us one step closer to meeting our goals. Once we are successful with the camp scholarship programs we will move on to creating college and trade school scholarship programs focusing on the fine arts.

I also personally met with Valeria Roncoli of New Haven the Creator of www.bellazadore.com

I will be sharing more about that with you in my next blog -but all i can tell you is that this alliance will be very positive for Harmony4Kidz.  I am planning to attend the next get together they are having in New Haven on November 10th and Harmony4Kidz is being considered to be featured in their December issue.

In general, I am very happy with the progress we are making.

The number of organizations that are supporting our vision and mission is growing.

By the way, World Changers Church is creating a program for some inner city kids which will

be including some basketball games. We are working on creating a scholarship to a basketball camp

to the most valuable player. This is really exciting for us.

Our treasurer, Mitch Edwards, made a wonderful connection that further validates that we are on the right track. He met someone who has dedicated their lives to working with at risk youths.

We will be publishing some of their findings in our future blogs. We are going to schedule a few working meetings with these folks so that we can pick up where they left off and benefit from the work that they have done.

I believe that Harmony4Kidz will be making a significant impact in the area of homeless youth.

We are dedicated to making a difference for the young people who live on the streets.

I am a musician and have been primarily focusing on music  programs for the past 3 years.

This month, I started developing some cool art programs for the young people as well.

With the help of my daughter, I came up with a wonderful work shop using splatter paint to express

feelings on canvas.  These workshops can be very beneficial and the art work can also be sold, with the

proceeds going directly to the foundation. I am also looking at live paint, combining music and art together

to create full self-expression and boost self-esteem.

Please visit our blog for future updates on live-paint work shops.

I am meeting with someone next week who is very active in the area of homelessness - she attended a presentation tonight at Fairfield University and will be updating me on how that went next tuesday when we meet.

Thank you all for all of your continuing support.

If you would like to contribute, please goto www.sendoutcards.com/harmony4kidz and check out

walk you thru how to use the product.

best wishes to you as you get ready for the holiday season.
